The Saatchi Gallery
a must while walking on King's Road or as I did after a nice lunch at the Gallery Mess
With all due respect for all the artists exhibiting at the Saatchi Gallery below are some of the art pieces I enjoyed the most
Canadian Artist from Montreal
not sure if you all know that I lived in Montreal for almost 13 years, hence was very keen for his art :)
The New North
made out of wood, foam, expandable foam, resin, paint, magic-sculpt, magic smooth, glue, mirror, horse hair, quartz crystals
wood, foam, plaster, burlap, metal wire, paint
Very interesting piece as what you first see is not what it seems but a more in depth thought about life, death, love, sex and much more...
I leave you to take a look and interpret
hence the reason I took so many pictures...
Another angle from The Healers
and the last one from The Healers
In another room we can admire...

Women Changing India
A photographic exhibition commissioned by BNP Paribas in order to celebrate 150 years in India.
It combines the talents of Magnum Photos and Zubaan, a New Delhi-based publishing house specialising in books by and about women in South Asia.
'Women are natural leaders: not only within their own communities but in the country as a whole'
'When a woman starts earning, it changes the power balance in the home and the world'
'We need to hire more women, increase the intake, but change is a process that takes time'
Namaben Bijal Marwara, master embroiderer from the Meghwar community at the office of KMVS at Mundra.
She has been a memeber of KMVS for 17 years
'The film world is truly democratic: religion, caste and gender don't matter, just our ability to deliver'.
Richard Wilson, born 1953, is one of Britain’s most renowned sculptors.
The gallery is filled to waist height with recycled engine oil, from which the piece takes its name. A walk way leads from a single entrance, leading the viewer into the space until they are surrounded by oil on all sides.
The impenetrable, reflective surface of the oil mirrors the architecture of the room exactly, placing the viewer at the mid-point of a symmetrical visual plane.
